STATEMENT

 

 

 

 

Me gusta ver aquello que hago como una forma de comprender el tiempo y el lugar en el que habito; como una forma de acercarme de manera creativa a quienes me rodean. Es por ello que mi trabajo puede surgir de mis experiencias y pensamientos diarios, de la percepción que tengo del espacio público en las ciudades contemporáneas, de la música que oigo mientras realizo un corto recorrido en autobús, o de los comentarios que hago con mis amigos tras ver una película. Para mí no existe una fórmula. La flexibilidad y la ausencia de compromiso son las únicas virtudes que me gusta otorgarle a mis proyectos. A veces pinto y en ocasiones realizo intervenciones en espacios públicos; algunas veces dibujo y otras veces registro en fotografía las acciones que realizo en contextos específicos. De cualquier forma son las ideas, muchas de ellas cruzadas por la historia del arte, la ironía, y un sentido trágico de la existencia, las que prevalecen y determinan el resultado de aquello que llamo, no sin cierta dificultad, mi obra.

I like to see what I do like a way to understand the space and time in which I live; like a way to creatively approach to those who surround me. Therefore my work could appear from my daily experiences and thoughts, from my own perception about public space on contemporary cities, from the music I hear while taking a short bus trip, or from the comments that I make with my friends just after watching a movie. To me, there is not a formula. Flexibility and absence of commitment are the only virtues I like to give to my projects. Sometimes I paint and sometimes I make public space interventions; sometimes I draw and sometimes I take photographic records of my actions I make at specific contexts. Anyway there are ideas, many of them crossed by art history, irony and a tragic sense of existence, that are prevalent and determine the result of what I call, not without some sort of difficult, my oeuvre.
